The Crown Jewels Chapter started in 2002 and is based in Boise, the state capital. Its name was chosen because Idaho is the Gem State, and Boise is in an area commonly known as the Treasure Valley.
Our chapter has around forty active members, and is in contact with many more ladies of the commonwealth. We are a diverse group, both in age and background, and we are especially proud of our mother, daughter, and grand-daughter members.
Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month (except for July & August) at the Greek Orthodox Church Hall in Boise. After we conduct official business, we socialize over a cup of tea and homemade nibbles, and of course there's always a fundraising raffle. During the summer we have an informal get together at a local restaurant. Some Novembers we celebrate Guy Fawkes & Bonfire Night with a big bonfire, fireworks, and a pot luck.
Our main annual fundraiser is an Afternoon Tea. This started life in 2002 as a garden party in honor of the Queen's Golden Jubilee. The event has evolved over the years into a highly popular event, and tickets always sell out fast. We turn our indoor venue into an English Tea Room and serve a full afternoon tea at beautifully laid tables. There is always light musical entertainment to accompany tea and a raffle for some fun prizes.
If you are interested in becoming a member, or would like to know more about us or our fundraising activities, please contact us.

Besides supporting the Western District Home, we support a variety of local charities each year; they are usually ones that benefit women and children.
We regularly adopt a family at Christmas time from The Women's and Children's Alliance.
